We rely on the generosity of our member congregations and kind-hearted individuals to cover the costs of the Pantry. The Pantry is staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers. The Pantry has no paid advertising or fundraising expenses. In a review of the Pantry's $18,522 in expenses for 2019, 81% was spent on groceries, 8% on utilities and 11% on other expenses (insurance, postage, etc). This breakdown is consistent with spending in other years.

The Pantry is always seeking and thankful for donations from individuals.

To support My Brother’s Pantry -- where our families can choose the food most appropriate for their needs -- gifts of nonperishable food items are always appreciated.

Please consider the following (regularly-updated) list of foods for donations:

  • Low-sugar canned fruits: peaches, pears, mixed fruit, applesauce
  • Low-sodium canned vegetables: green beans, corn, peas
  • Canned proteins: chicken, salmon
  • Cereals: Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes, Cheerios
  • Broths: chicken or beef
  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
  • Low-sugar jellies:  grape or strawberry

Anyone can sell an item on eBay through the Giving Works program and automatically donate 10% to 100% of the proceeds to My Brother's Pantry. The donation is tax deductible, and eBay has generously agreed to reduce their usual selling fees in proportion with your donation percentage.
