We rely on the generosity of our member congregations and kind-hearted individuals to cover the costs of the Pantry. The Pantry is staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers. The Pantry has no paid advertising or fundraising expenses. In a review of the Pantry's $15,864 in expenses for 2013, 82% was spent on groceries, 9% on utilities and 9% on other expenses (insurance, postage, etc). This breakdown is consistent with spending in other years.

The Pantry is always seeking and thankful for donations from individuals.

To Donate Food

Gifts of nonperishable food items are always appreciated.  (Peanut butter and jelly, pasta sauce, cereal and canned meats are always in great demand.) My Brother's Pantry has donation boxes at several locations on the Broadneck Peninsula.

To Donate Auction Proceeds

Anyone can sell an item on eBay through the Giving Works program and automatically donate 10% to 100% of the proceeds to My Brother's Pantry. The donation is tax deductible, and eBay has generously agreed to reduce their usual selling fees in proportion with your donation percentage. Simply select "My Brother's Pantry" when prompted to select a charity, choose a percentage and create your auction as usual.
